Why Business Travellers Avoid Grab at Changi
The case for a pre-booked private transfer over Grab is strongest for business travellers — not because Grab is a bad product, but because it was not designed for the specific needs of corporate ground transport.
When you land at Changi after a six-hour flight from Tokyo or an overnight from London, the last thing you want is to stand in the Grab pickup zone watching surge pricing tick upward while you wait for a driver who cancels. You have a client meeting in two hours. You need to be at the Marriott in the CBD looking composed, not frazzled from a 25-minute Grab wait at T3.
A pre-booked private transfer solves every part of that problem. Your driver is already in the Arrivals hall with your name board before you clear immigration. The fare was agreed before your flight even landed. The vehicle — a Mercedes E-Class or Toyota Alphard — is appropriate for a business arrival. And if your flight was delayed, your driver already knows because we track the flight number in real time.
Which Vehicle for Corporate Travel
The right vehicle depends on who is travelling and what impression needs to be made.
| Scenario | Recommended Vehicle | Fixed Fare From |
|---|---|---|
| Solo executive, 1–2 bags | Mercedes E-Class | SGD 150 |
| Two colleagues, shared transfer | Mercedes E-Class or Standard Sedan | SGD 50–150 |
| Client pickup or VIP guest | Toyota Alphard or Mercedes E-Class | SGD 85–150 |
| Delegation of 3–6 people | Toyota Alphard | SGD 85 |
| Team with heavy luggage | Toyota Alphard | SGD 85 |
| Executive with full-day programme | Hourly chauffeur — any vehicle | From SGD 60/hr |
The Mercedes E-Class is the quieter, more discreet choice — appropriate for solo executives who want to work in the car, take a call, or simply decompress on the way to the hotel. The cabin is calm, the ride is smooth, and the vehicle's presence at the hotel drop-off is understated but appropriate.
The Toyota Alphard is the choice when you are collecting a client, hosting an overseas delegation, or travelling with colleagues. The cabin is genuinely spacious — captain's chairs, generous headroom, flat floor — and seats up to six passengers comfortably with room for luggage. For client hosting, the Alphard projects a level of care that a standard sedan does not.
Hosting a Client or VIP Guest
One of the most common corporate bookings we handle is the client pickup — an overseas executive or investor flying into Singapore who needs to be met at Changi and transferred to a hotel or office. Done well, it sets the tone for the entire visit. Done poorly, it is the first impression that lingers.
The logistics are simple: your EA WhatsApps us the guest's flight number, arrival date, name, and destination. We confirm the fare, assign the driver, and monitor the flight. Your driver meets the guest at the Arrivals hall with a name board — clean, professional, immediately reassuring after a long flight. The guest is in the vehicle within minutes of clearing customs.
If your guest's itinerary includes multiple stops across the day — airport to hotel, hotel to office, office to lunch, lunch back to hotel — our hourly chauffeur service is the more practical structure. The driver stays with your guest for the full programme, eliminating the logistics of re-booking between each leg.
When to Book Hourly vs Airport Transfer
An airport transfer is the right product when the need is a single direct journey — Changi to hotel, or hotel to Changi. It is priced by route and the driver moves on after drop-off.
Hourly chauffeur hire is the right product when your guest or colleague has a programme that spans several hours and multiple locations. From SGD 60 per hour with a three-hour minimum, the driver and vehicle remain at your disposal for the full booking period — no re-booking between stops, no gaps in coverage, no uncertainty about whether a car will be available at each location.
For a full-day executive programme — airport pickup, hotel check-in, meetings across the CBD, client dinner, return to hotel — hourly hire from the airport arrival through to end of evening is the cleanest solution. See our hourly chauffeur page for rates and vehicle options.
Receipts and Expense Claims
Fixed pricing makes corporate expense claims straightforward. The fare is agreed before the trip — SGD 85 for the Alphard from Changi to the CBD, for example — and does not change. There are no meter readings to verify, no surge charges to explain, and no variable totals that differ from what was approved.
We provide receipts for all bookings. Request one when you WhatsApp us and it will be sent after the trip. For companies with ongoing transfer needs — regular client pickups, executive commutes, event ground transport — contact us to discuss preferred-rate arrangements.
What to Tell Your EA When Booking
If your executive assistant is handling the booking on your behalf, here is the exact information they need to provide via WhatsApp:
- Passenger name (as it will appear on the name board)
- Flight number and arrival date
- Destination — hotel name and address, or office building
- Vehicle preference — Standard Sedan, Toyota Alphard, or Mercedes E-Class
- Any special requirements — extra luggage, child seat, early arrival expected
We confirm the booking and fixed fare within minutes, any time of day. For recurring corporate accounts or regular bookings, ask about setting up a preferred contact arrangement so your EA has a direct line to our team.

Yes — most of our corporate bookings are handled by EAs and office managers. They book via WhatsApp with the traveller's flight details, and the driver communicates directly with the passenger on the day. If preferred, confirmations can be sent to both the EA and the traveller.
Yes — T1, T2, T3 and T4. Your driver is briefed on the specific terminal and meets the passenger at the Arrivals hall with a name board. For T4 pickups, we note this in the briefing as T4 is a separate building with no Skytrain connection.
We accept same-day corporate bookings subject to vehicle availability. For important client pickups, we always recommend booking at least 24–48 hours ahead to guarantee the vehicle category. Same-day requests are handled on a best-efforts basis.
